Shah
Anisur Rahman Memorial Award Giving Ceremony Introducing
Standard Bangla Spelling Urged
Rajshahi,
February 17, 2007: One of the prominent novelists of the
country Imdadul Hoque Milon urged the Government to take
effective initiative to introduce a standard Bangla spelling
everywhere.
In
the function, Imdadul Hoque Milon handed over crest, prize
money and certificates to the Editor of the Dainik Barta S M
A Quader and wife of the Executive Editor of the Daily
Sonali Sangbad Molazzem Hossain Mamotaz Ara Hossain as
previously nominated for the award respectively in 2004 and
2005.
Instructor
of Bangladesh Television Debate Competition and Chairman of
Debate for Democracy Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiron and Former
President of Rajshahi Press Club Adv Nazrul Islam Khan
attended the function as special guests. Among others,
Editor of the daily Barta S M A Quader, Editor of the daily
Natun Provat Sarder Abdur Rahman, Assistant Secretary
General of BFUJ Rezaul Karim Raju, General Secretary of
Rajshahi City Press Club Abdus Sabur, President of
Metropolitan Press Club Shafiqul Islam, News Editor of the
daily Natun Provat Sona Chowdhury and Staff Reporter of the
daily Amardesh and NTV S M Saju took part in the discussion.
Director of CCD G M Mourtoza presented welcome address in
the function while Project Coordinator A H M Abdul Hai
conducted ceremony.
Mentionably,
mass communication oriented development organization CCD
introduced Shah Anisur Rahman Memorial Media Award to
commemorate the contribution of its Founder and renowned
journalist Shah Anisur Rahman.

Mahmud and Late Abdus Samad Nominated
Rajshahi,
February 25, 2007 : As
recognition of significant contribution to the local
development journalism in Rajshahi region, Journalist Wazed
Mahmud and Late Abdus Samad have been nominated for Shah
Anisur Rahman Memorial Media Award accordingly 2006 and
2007. Mass communication oriented
development organization CCD introduced Shah Anisur Rahman
Memorial Media Award to commemorate the contribution of its
Founder Chairman and renowned journalist Shah Anisur Rahman.
It was declared on the third death anniversary of Journalist
Shah Anisur Rahman on February 24, 2007. Journalist Shah
Anisur Rahman died on February 24 in 2004. Wazed Mahmood was the Chief
Editor of the daily Sonali Sangbad and the daily Natun
Provat published from Rajshahi. Earlier, he worked as
Assistant Editor and News Editor of the only national daily
published from Rajshahi the daily Barta. Presently he has
been working as Joint News Editor of the daily Bhorer Kagoj
in Dhaka. Meanwhile, the Founder Editor of the weekly Rajshahi Barta Late Abdus Samad was nominated for the award posthumously. A large number of journalists have been working with his inspiration and guide line in Rajshahi. Shah

Hossain Selected for Award This Year Rajshahi, February 25, 2006 :
He has been nominated for this award for his significant contribution in developing local journalism. Molazzem Hossain Sachchu has been playing sincere and active role in developing standard and value of local journalism and journalists staying in Rajshahi for many years. Notably, last year Editor of the Dainik Barta S M A Quader was nominated for Shah Anisur Rahman Memorial Award. Both of them will be handed over the awards in an auspicious function very soon.
CCD Establish Shah Anisur Memorial Award for Journalists
It was decided in a meeting of the Executive Body of CCD held at its office on Saturday with Acting Chairman of the organization Prof Dulal Chandra Biswas in the chair. Among others, Executive Member Tanvir Ahmed, Mohammad Zulfiker, Nazrul Islam and Executive Director Golam Mourtoza were present in the meeting. The
speakers in the meeting expressed deep concern at the death
of the renowned journalist Shah Anisur Rahman and condolence
to the bereft family members. Moreover, CCD would form Shah
Anisur Rahman Memorial Fund from which a big amount of money
would be given to his family now in the critical moment and
the journalists suffering from diseases or financial crises
or unwanted legal harassment for authentic news would be
supported financially from the fund. Besides,
with the view to commemorating his excellency in journalism,
CCD would award a journalist working in Rajshahi Division
for remarkable role in journalism on archaeology and
regional historical affairs every year on February 24, the
date of his death. Notably, Shah Anisur Rahman was a pioneer
in searching the glorious history, culture and archaeology
of the North Bengal. In this context, a large number of his
writings have been published in many national daily
newspapers and journals. A collection of his valuable writings and other biographical works on his life would also be published soon by CCD. In this regard all of his friends and relatives have been requested to send concerned stories to the head office of CCD at Dream Paradise, Monafer Moarhe, Raninagar, Rajshahi- 6204. |
