World AIDS Day Observed in Rajshahi

Youth Community to be Aware for AIDS Prevention

The youth community has been urged to be alert and aware in every nook and corner to save Bangladesh from the pandemic aggression of HIV/AIDS.

This was urged in a youth council held in Rajshahi on Monday on the occasion of World AIDS Day. Knowledge centre CCD and Rajshahi Youth Citizen Forum arranged this council. In the council held at the premises of Rajshahi College, speakers said, AIDS is gradually spreading among the people of different professions in Bangladesh due to the unawareness and ignorance. The youth community has to play active and dutiful role in preventing HIV/AIDS, they also opined. Among others, Field Coordinator of IRI and Coordinator of Youth Leadership Program of CCD Arafat Ali Siddique and Coordinator of Capacity Building Program of CCD Sarder Mohammad Mohiuddin addressed the council.

Earlier CCD and Rajshahi Youth Citizen Forum jointly brought out a colourful rally from Rajshahi Sadar Hospital Square at 09 am on the occasion. Youth representatives of different wards of Rajshahi City Corporation and students of different educational institutions took part in the rally.
