Community Radio Demanded for the Indigenous People Rajshahi,
17 April 2010: Community
radio can play significant role for the socio-economic
development and preservation of the language and culture of
the indigenous people. Therefore, establishment of a
separate community radio for the indigenous people has been
demanded.
The
training course was arranged with the cooperation of IPDC of
UNESCO. In the closing ceremony of the training course
editors also said, because of various reasons, language,
tradition, culture and folk knowledge of the indigenous
communities of the northern region are getting extinct,
which is a matter of great regret. They said, if a separate
community radio station is set up for the indigenous
communities, their language, tradition, culture and folk
knowledge can be easily preserved. CCD
Director media personality G M Mourtoza conducted the
function held at Haji Muntazul Hoque Auditorium at Monafer
Morh in the city. Program Organiser of CCD Manik Soren,
trainees Mitali Kishku and Srijol Tigga presented welcome
address in the function. Program Coordinator of CCD Golam
Rabbani, Mostafijur Rahman Goni, Program Organiser Manik
Soren, Organiser Sadik Fatima Kanon, Mostafijur Rahman Sun,
Akhiduzzaman Akhib and Rashedul Islam Russel assisted the
training course. Notably, a total of 32 delegates from Saontal, Urao, Mahato, Malo, Munda, Dolit, Hajong, Garo and Chakma indigenous communities are taking part in the radio journalism training course. Chairman of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Rajshahi University Moshihur Rahman, Professor Dulal Chandra Biswas, Shatil Shiraj and media personality G M Mourtoza conducted the sessions in the first round of the training course titled as Training on Basic Radio Journalism. Radio Advances Process of Making Digital Bangladesh Rajshahi,
09 April 2010: The
starting of community radio broadcasting will advance the
process of making digital Bangladesh one step ahead, because
community radio plays significant role in focusing the
socio-economic condition and status of the marginalized and
unprivileged communities of the country.
Mass
communication oriented knowledge centre CCD arranged the
first phase of the Training on Basic Radio Journalism. CCD
Advisor and Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism
Department of Rajshahi University Dulal Chandra Biswas
inaugurated the training programme. On the first day, the
technical sessions were conducted by Chairman of Mass
Communication and Journalism Department of Rajshahi
University Moshihur Rahman, Professor Shatil Siraj Shuvo and
CCD Director media personality G M Mourtoza. Among others,
Program Coordinator of CCD Golam Rabbani, Program Organiser
Manik Soren, Organiser Sadik Fatima Kanon, Mostafijur Rahman
Sun, Akhiduzzaman Akhib and Rashedul Islam Rasel assisted
the program. A
total of 40 delegates from Saontal, Urao, Mahato, Malo,
Munda, Dalit, Hanjong, Kharhia, Garo and Chakma indigenous
communities are taking part in this training course held at
Haji Muntajul Hoque Auditorium at Monafer Morh in the city.
The first phase of the training program will end on 17
April. |
