Youth Festival in Rajshahi Ends
Commitment
of Making Bangladesh as Dreamt by the Youth
Rajshahi,
March 31:
Through
the commitment of thousands of young boys and girls of
making Bangladesh as dreamt by the youth, the largest
youth festival wound up in Rajshahi this evening. Along
with the young people, Mayor, MPs, sportsmen, journalist
and different professionals took the same oath of making
Bangladesh a developed country.
On
the occasion of this grand festival jointly arranged by
International Republican Institute (IRI) and CCD
Bangladesh, Rajshahi Divisional Stadium turned into a
gathering place of thousands of young boys and girls of
the higher educational institutions of Rajshahi. With
the breaking enthusiasm, courage and pleasure, thousands
of young boys and girls actively took part in different
interesting and educative games and competitions in the
festival.
The
programs of the second day of the festival commenced
with the Potgan, Gomvira and Talk Show at 10.00 am.
Reputed journalist and media personality of the country
Naimul Islam Khan, Chairman of Mass Communication
Department of Rajshahi University Prof Dulal Chandra
Biswas, Editor of the Daily Barta S M A Kader and noted
journalists of local and national newspapers took part
in the talk show on Unknown Tales of Journalism.
In
the democracy pavilion of the festival, potgan, Gomvira,
Forum Theater, talk show, on Youth and Politics,
Tolerance in Politics and Local Governance:
Participation of Male and Female and election campaign
competition were held. Moreover, learning research
through games, election campaign competition, letter
writing, interesting games of election observation and
playing role as MP were the main attraction of the
interactive pavilion. In addition, a number IEC
material, publications, handicrafts and documentary
films were exhibited in different stalls of local and
international development organizations in the festival.
Mayor
of Rajshahi City Corporation Mizanur Rahman Minu Mp and
General Secretary of Rajshahi Divisional Sports
Association Mahmud Jamal as chief guest and special
guest respectively attended the closing and certificate
giving ceremony of the festival. Program Representative
of IRI Aminul Ehsan conducted the concluding function.
Mayor Minu, in his speech, called upon the young
generation to be much more skilled and active citizen to
build up newly developed Bangladesh. He also stressed on
the devotion of the young boys and girls to make
Bangladesh as their dream of glory and prosperity.
Above
six thousand students, teachers, guardians and invited
guests from all the schools, colleges and universities
of Rajshahi actively took part in the festival. Through
taking part in different exceptional and variety of
educative and recreational events, games, competition
and talk shows in the festival thousands of young people
received a complete guideline to think, understand and
chalk out a new plan of their life style and career for
the development and prosperity of the nation and the
country.
