Students' Commitment for AIDS Prevention

Madrasah
students expressed commitment to play significant role
in creating mass awareness on HIV/AIDS.
They
expressed this commitment in the orientation on the Role
of Students in HIV/AIDS Prevention held at the premises
of Modinatul Ulum Kamil Madrasah in Rajshahi today. They
also said it is great duty of every religious person to
save the mass people and work for the welfare of the
people for achieving satisfaction of Allah. Speakers in
the orientation addressing the Madrasah students as
soldier of Islamic education, called upon them all to
play active role in making the mass people aware of
HIV/AIDS. They added that if we lead our lives following
Islamic rules and regulations it is easily possible to
save ourselves from the attack of HIV/AIDS.
Mass
communication oriented development organization CCD
Bangladesh and its co-organization Bangladesh Advanced
Students Alliance (BASA) with the support of National
AIDS/STD Program (NASP)
and UNICEF organized this orientation.
Principal
of the Maolana Md Mokaddasul Islam attended the
orientation as chief guest. Among others, Assistant
Professor of Bangla Department K M Salah Uddin, Senior
Teacher Md Saiful Islam, Program Advisor of CCD
Bangladesh and Australian Youth Ambassador for
Development (AYAD) Laura Martine Bos, Program
Coordinator A H M Abdul Hai, Program Organizer Abu Tayab
and BASA Organizer Lutfun Nahar Koruna spoke on the
occasion. About 100 students of the Madrasah actively
took part in the orientation.
Meanwhile,
a networking meeting of CCD Bangladesh and BASA was held
in Madarbux Home Economics College campus this
afternoon. Among others Program Officer Mahfuzur Rahman
Mishu, Program Organizer Abu Tayab, BASA Organizer
Zinnatu Nesa Jhorna and Rehana Hoque Runa addressed the
meeting.
