Shame, Prevention Inevitable to Combat AIDS

Calling
upon the youth and students to play active role in AIDS
prevention speakers said, it is right time when we have
to give up all shyness and hesitation and prevent
HIV/AIDS spread, otherwise the country has to face a
serious epidemic soon.
Speakers
said it at the orientation on the Role of Students in
HIV/AIDS Prevention held at the premises of Baneswar
Degree College today. Mass communication oriented
development organization CCD Bangladesh and its
co-organization Bangladesh Advanced Students Alliance
(BASA) with the support of National AIDS/STD Program (NASP)
and UNICEF organized this orientation.
Principal
of the college Md Mazdar Rahman and Vice Principal Md
Khorshed Alom attended the orientation as chief guest
and special guest respectively. Among others, Assistant
Professor of English Department Md Emdadul Hoque,
Demonstrator of Zoology Advocate A B Siddique, Program
Advisor of CCD Bangladesh and Australian Youth
Ambassador for Development (AYAD) Laura Martine Bos,
Program Coordinator A H M Abdul Hai, Program Organizer
Tofael Ahmmad Ujjol, BASA Organizers A S M Anisur Rahman
Litu, Salahuddin Ahmed Murad, Rehena Hoque Runa,
Rezwanul Alom and Shah Alom spoke on the occasion. Above
150 students of the college actively took part in the
orientation.
Meanwhile,
a networking meeting of CCD Bangladesh and BASA was held
in Rajshahi City College campus this morning. Among
others Campaign Officer Abdul Muttalib Jewel, Program
Organizer Abu Tayab, BASA Organizer Elias Bin Kashem and
Nahid Sarwar Tushar addressed the meeting.
