Witness renowned theatre activist Shuvra Biswas perform ‘Konya Slok’ (Hymn for the Daughter) by Mallika Sengupta- Bengal’s unapologetically Feminist poet, on Friday, 30 July 9.00 PM. Shuvra evocatively performs the poem that talks about survival in deeply patriarchal settings, symbolising the thought of Ma Durga.
Shuvra’s outstanding presence is felt in the field of drama, and her performance conveys the poem’s strong message of how women contribute to the world in all areas and still have to conform to society’s patriarchal attitudes, but can overcome and raise her voices to make spaces of their own.
