Bangladesh Debate Federation (BDF) offered special award to media personality G M Mourtoza for his outstanding contribution in encouraging debate practice to flourish creativity of the students and youth community in Rajshahi region.
He was awarded in an auspicious function held at Rajshahi District Council Auditorium on Monday. Chief Guest in the function former Advisor of the Care Taker Government of Bangladesh M Hafiz Uddin Khan handed over the award to G M Mourtoza. Noted litterateur Prof Hasan Azizul Hoque, Freedom Fighter Prof Shamsul Alam Bir Protik, Regional Chief of Banglalink Jahir Uddin Md Nadib and President of BDF Tasinuddin Ahmed attended the function as special guests. With sponsorship and cooperation of Banglalink and BDF, Group of Liberal Debators (GOLD)-Rajshahi University (RU) organized this function. The winners and debaters of the Inter-university Debate Championship were also awarded in the function.
Notably, mass communication oriented knowledge centre CCD Bangladesh patronized by media personality G M Mourtoza has been organizing debate workshops and competitions for last several years to enhance skills, capacity, leadership quality and creativity of the students and youth community in Rajshahi region. In the history of Rajshahi University, CCD has arranged for the first time inter-department debate competition, inter-college debate competition, inter-personal debate competition, parliamentary debate competition, debate festival, orientation, workshop and training courses here. The participants and beneficiaries of the debate programs of CCD formed GOLD with the patronization of CCD Bangladesh.
