The administration of Rajshahi University has decided to organise Manuscripts Reading Sessions (Puthi) and Guided Tours for the visitors at Varendra Research Museum every Saturday. On Monday afternoon, the Chairperson of the Museum Advisory Committee and the Vice-Chancellor of the University Rajshahi Professor Dr. Golam Sabbir Sattar announced this decision. He expressed hope that this would increase the interest of visitors towards the oldest museum of this subcontinent.
Earlier, he enjoyed puthi (reading manuscripts) by young performers of the OSCH project. He was accompanied by Professor Dr. Md. Sultan-ul-Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration), Professor Dr. Pradip Kumar Pandey, Administrator, of Public Relations Office, University of Rajshahi and Professor Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed, Director, of Varendra Research Museum. There the youth board members of the ‘Our Shared Cultural Heritage (OSCH)’ project also guided them through the various galleries of the museum.
With the support of the British Council, the OSCH project is being implemented in Rajshahi bt CCD Bangladesh and the URONTO Artist Community.
