CCD Bangladesh has successfully organised the fourth and last ‘Training of Trainers on Fact-Checking’ under the Advancing Local Electrical Reporting (ALERT) in Bangladesh project to create a felicitous network to verify the information and prevent rumors.
A total of 28 journalists from Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal participated in this two-day training organized in Khulna. Through this, with the support of Internews, CCD Bangladesh has linked up 75 journalists and 25 journalism professors on a Facebook-based platform called Bangladesh Fact-Checking Network. In this platform, 1000 more local journalists and students in all 64 districts will work together through whom direct fact-checking will be done.
CCD Bangladesh has started working this time not only to verify the truth of information and prevent fake news but also to create responsible behaviour of journalists across the country through mutual cooperation. May our future country be peaceful and everyone should be aware of verifying the authenticity of the information.
