Celebrations during WOW- Women of the World festivals evoke feelings of optimism, determination and energy, making us think about the amazing world we could have if we had gender equality.

In that essence, we are excited to see Sabittre Hembram, a Santal Youth Leader and Dance Instructor from Rajshahi, perform during WOW Virtual Bangladesh! The Santals form the largest tribal community in northern Bangladesh.

The community is quite festive and through Sabbittre’s performance she calls for peace, asks everyone to forget violence and hatred and to live in harmony together.

Don’t miss it, see you on 29 July at 9.00 PM! WOW Virtual Bangladesh is a free online festival open for all, and aims to celebrate women’s voices across the country.

It is brought to you by British Council Bangladesh, with support from strategic partners #CCDBangladesh and #MongolDeepFoundation. Jude Kelly CBE, CEO and Founder of The WOW Foundation launched WOW in 2010 when she was Artistic Director of Southbank Centre in London.
